Rivet Busters: Equipment, Tooling and Service Requirements

Rivet Busters: Equipment, Tooling and Service Requirements

Madido |

Rivet busters combine pneumatic percussion with interchangeable steel tooling for rivet removal, concrete breaking and industrial demolition. Equipment selection depends on the material, access, working position and the required rate of removal.

How the system works

Compressed air drives a piston that delivers repeated blows to the working tool. The point or chisel transfers this energy to the material. Sleeves, retainers and other internal or retaining components support the assembly and must be selected from the correct model's parts breakdown.

Review stroke, weight and air requirements

Rivet busters are available in different configurations, including 8-inch and 11-inch stroke models. Stroke length is one specification among several: compare the manufacturer's impact data, blow rate, weight, air consumption and intended duty before choosing equipment.

A longer stroke alone does not establish equivalence to a particular breaker class. Review the complete machine specification and the application rather than relying on a general power comparison.

Match the working tool to the task

  • Moil points: concentrated contact for breaking concrete and other suitable materials.
  • Chisels: blade profiles selected for directional splitting, chipping or material removal.
  • Specialized working ends: geometry reviewed for the material and access requirements.

Confirm shank dimensions and retention compatibility. Similar-looking tools and components are not necessarily interchangeable.

Parts and maintenance planning

Inspect tooling and retaining components according to the equipment manufacturer's instructions. Review lubrication, air supply, hoses and replacement intervals as part of the maintenance program. Order sleeves, bushings, bumpers, retainers and springs against the exact machine model and part reference.

Equipment supply and Canadian tooling manufacturing

Madido supplies rivet busters, replacement components and service support alongside its Montreal manufacturing of forged steel points, chisels and industrial tooling. These activities support equipment selection, working-tool specification and ongoing maintenance.

For a quotation or parts review, provide the model, serial information where available, application and required tooling dimensions to sales@madido.com.
