Electric hammer tooling must match both the machine interface and the material-removal task. Madido manufactures SDS Max and SDS Plus points and chisels in Canada for demolition, renovation and industrial maintenance applications.
Start with the hammer interface
SDS Plus and SDS Max are different toolholding systems. Confirm the exact hammer model, chuck type and the manufacturer's permitted working tools before ordering. Brand name alone does not establish compatibility.
SDS Plus tooling is commonly used with compact rotary hammers, while SDS Max tooling serves larger hammer platforms. The machine's rated capacity, chiselling function and intended duty determine which application is appropriate.
Select the working profile
- Moil points: concentrate impact at a small contact area for localized breaking.
- Narrow chisels: provide a defined edge for directional chipping and splitting.
- Wider chisels: spread contact across a broader working edge for suitable removal and scaling tasks.
Tool length, blade width and working position should be reviewed alongside the hammer's operating requirements. The largest or longest tool is not automatically the most productive choice.
Forging, machining and heat treatment
Madido's manufacturing process combines steel forming, connection machining and heat treatment around the specified geometry and service demands. Hardness, toughness and wear requirements are considered together for repeated percussion.
Performance comparisons require equivalent equipment, materials and working conditions. Evaluate tooling by wear, removal rate and replacement intervals in the intended application.
